Because they are reproducing by asexual means, it is very easy for bacteria to grow to a very large population very quickly. A typical bacteria can multiply and reproduce one million more bacteria within a space of 24 hours. That is why it so difficult to wipe out some bacteria when they gained entrance into human body.
