W=2L

P=300=2(L+W)
so

300=2(L+W)
divide by 2
150=L+W

W=2L
subsitute

150=L+2L
150=3L
divide by 3
50=L
sub back

W=2L
W=2(50)
W=100

the field is 100yd wide by 50yd long
