Let the two numbers be x and y.

Given,

x + y = 7

x = 7 - y

Also given,

x - y = -1

7 - y - y = -1

-2y = -8

y = 4

x = 7 - y = 7 - 3 = 4

Hence, the numbers are 3 and 4.
