Jamestown was named after the king James I, the first colonists at Jamestown would have starved to death in the first winter. The local Native Americans would not trade with the settlers but they always had respect for the new comers and they helped them with planting and growing food. After a short time the whites betrayed to Indians, they had learned many things about harvesting from them but instead of this they become greedy and betrayed them.
