Ethylene Glycol is the toxic ingredient found in antifreeze. While actually not toxic itself it is oxidized several times over into Oxalic Acid, which affects the CNN and kidneys. It is dangerous because it specifically tastes sweet which attracts children.
Interesting fact; Iced Teas due contain trace amounts of Ethylene Glycol in it.
