Solve using BEDMAS.
5(x-4)=5x+12
Distribute the Brackets.
5x-20=5x+12
Add 20 to both sides.
(5x-20)+20=(5x+12)+20
5x=5x+32
Subtract 5x from both sides.
(5x)-5x=(5x+32)-5x
0=32

The sides are not equal and there is no solution.

Hope this helps!
