-4x^5+2x^4+x^3+3x^2+9x. When writing a polynomial in standard form they are asking for it in descending degree order. So look at the exponents and arrange the polynomial to where the highest exponent is on the left and lowest is on the right. Always pay attention to the signs remember to subtract it when it is negative and add when it is positive.
