In attempting to solve the system of in equality y =3x - 2 and x - 2y = 4, John graphed the two equations on his graphing calculator. Because he saw only one line, John wrote that the answer to the system is the empty set. Is He correct?

y = 3x - 2

rearranging the second equatio:-

-2y = - x + 4

y = 0.5x - 2

these are 2 different equations so he would see 2 lines which intersect so he was not correct.
