Green algae due to the evolution of plants evolving from photosynthetic green protists similar to algae. Adhesion nolecules are found on the surface of a cell, they are sticky and aid in cell to cell communication. Adhesion molecules are especially important for the growth and development of organisms. It was not until early 2002 that these molecules were discovered on plants.
