Precision and accuracy should be reported in a scientific investigation in order to share with other scientists the level of error that was considered as acceptable in the measurements taken during the research study.

Precision and accuracy should be practiced/reported in a scientific investigation so that the results can be relied upon. Precision can mean being very careful when making measurements to ensure they are done correctly and with appropriate equipment. Accuracy means that one's data reflects the actual condition of the observed phenomenon.
