Plato's Allegory of the Cave he explained that human is always bound to expectations based on senses and that man cannot see what is beyond that is seen. They are like prisoners in a cave that needs the freedom to uplift their condition. Philosophers wanted to go out of the walls and some prisoners would like to stay and accept the norms.
