When legislation becomes law, the Judicial Branch can interpret and apply the law.

This is thank to Montesquieu's belief in the system of having three different branches. Aside from the Judicial branch, we also have an Executive and Legislative branch.

This power was given to the Judicial Branch by the system of Checks and Balances. So, each branch has it's own power.

Hope this helps!!
