The Benedictâs test is used for studying the reducing sugars.

When the aldehyde is oxidized, the copper gets reduced and precipitates, changing the blue color of the solution to orange or red color.

The darker the color indicates that the solution has higher levels of sugar or a high amount of chemicals that have been reduced in the Benedictâs test.
