LACTOSE INTOLERANCE - is a condition in which one lacks lactase.

The symptoms include gas and bloating after consuming dairy products.

Lactose intolerance is caused due to lack of lactase enzyme, present in the small intestines and is essential to breakdown the lactose (a sugar found in milk and milk products) into glucose and galactose molecules.

Apart from causing gas and bloating, lactose intolerance can also cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, and nausea.
