It is the New Netherlands. The province of New Netherland was set up by the Dutch West India Company in 1624 and developed to include all of present-day New York City and parts of Long Island, Connecticut, and New Jersey. A fruitful Dutch settlement in the province experienced childhood with the southern tip of Manhattan Island and was dedicated New Amsterdam.
