Archaeopteryx was a DINOSAUR.
Formerly, Archaeoptery was classified as an early bird, but it was later re-classified as a dinosaur because it shares more similarity with the dinosaurs. Scientists have not really reach a consensus about this classification.
Archaeoptery was re-classify as a dinosaur because it share many anatomical structure with coelurosaurs which are a group of carnivorous dinosaurs.
