Abolitionists and women’s suffrage advocates were generally close allies before 1865. what divisions emerged during reconstruction and why?

Their priorities differed. The abolitionists started focusing more on the struggle of African-Americans and believed it to be more important than the struggle of women, while the women wanted support from the abolitionists in ensuring everyone gets their set of equality laws.
