How did the preoccupation of the british government on its own internal and european affairs affect the development of the british north american colonies?

It made the colonists angry. The colonists believed that the only times that Britain things about them or deals with them is when it suits its own needs and that they don't actually care about the colonies as long as they profit. They also involved colonists in their wars against European forces so this also brought a lot of anger to the colonies.
