Richard wright wrote the man who was almost a man as ALMOS a man, was beginning to gain momentum in the united states. In a short story by richer wright which is published in 1961 as part of Richard’s compilation of eight men. The story cores on Dave a young African american farm worker who is fraught to affirm his personality in the atmosphere of the rural south. The story is established in a farming zone which wright never gets into much aspect about the surrounding zone other than to indicate that the main character which is Dave is working or walking over and done with a field.
