A big cruise ship dropped anchor off the Caribbean island of Barbuda. The heavy anchor was released from a height of 545454 meters above the water's surface, and it fell at a constant rate. After 353535 seconds, the anchor was 999 meters below the water's surface.

How fast did the anchor drop?

it went from 54 meters above the surface to 9 meters below the surface...
54 to the surface (0) = 54....from 0 to -9 = 9....so it fell (54 + 9) = 63 meters.

so if it fell 63 meters in 35 seconds, then it fell (63/35) = 1.8 meters per second <===
