How did the economic boom of the 1950s, along with the rise of the suburbs, impact american society and culture?

(speaking from what I learned in APUSH) it helped "urbanize" societies into wanting to buy more home appliances, t.v.'s, radios, etc. Also, suburbs were a way for white folks to escape the city due to over population of immigrants which created a social impact by dividing the rich and the poor even more so
