The correct option is D. The two processes that involve in tectonic plate movement is RIDGE PUSH AND SLAB PULL. Due to the fact that, middle ocean ridges lie at higher elevation than the remaining part of the ocean floor, the force of gravity makes the ridge to push on the lithosphere that is farther from the ridge. Slab pull motion is caused by the tectonic plate subduction.
