The correct answer is - independence of Mexico.

Agustin de Iturbide was the man that led a rebellion against the Spanish rule in Mexico, and at first managed to get hold onto Mexico City, and afterwards the whole country. Mexico wanted to be independent, and when the Spanish government weakened and had big troubles, general de Iturbide saw the opportunity to free the country, and indeed he did.

After he proclaimed the independence of Mexico, he appointed himself as a ruler of the newly formed nation. It was a big challenge for him, as well as for the whole Mexican population, to get the country on solid legs, and direction it properly in order for it to develop and progress.
