The biological act of receiving sound is called HEARING.Hearing involves the transmission of sound waves through the ear canal until they reach the ear drum which pass the sound to the inner ear through the middle ear. In the inner ear, the sound waves are converted into electrical impulse which is sent to the brain for interpretation via auditory nerve.
