The School of Athens is a standout amongst the most renowned frescoes by the Italian Renaissance craftsman Raphael. It was painted in the vicinity of 1509 and 1511 as a piece of Raphael's bonus to improve the rooms now known as the Stanze di Raffaello, in the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican.
