The Romanesque period is the first since archaic ans Classical Greece to take its name from a artistic style rather than from politics or geography.
In Romanesque period, there was a sharp increase in trade. Romanesque is a style of architecture developed in Italy and western Europe between the Roman and Gothic styles after 1000 AD. The projecting transept marks Pisa Cathedral as Romanesque.
