"The Bacchae" or "The Bacchantes" is an ancient Greek tragedy, written by Euripides. It premiered at the Theater of Dionysus in 405 BC. Dionysus was the god of wine, prophecy, religious ectasy and fertility. The Bacchae are his crazy followers.
