The patients suffering from ALS eventually succumb to the disease by respiratory failure.

ALS or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a progressive neuro-degenerative disease. This disease affects simple movements of the muscles like swallowing and muscular cramps and twitches are common in this. Some people with ALS choose invasive ventilation for breathing but most people lose the battle with ALS due to respiratory failure.
