5+3+4 = 12 total coins

4 are quarters so first selection = 4/12 reduces to 1/3

after taking a coin out there would be 11 coins left and 3 quarters left

so 2nd selection would be 3/11

now multiply 3/11 x 1/3 = 3/33 which reduces to 1/11

B. 1/11 is the correct answer
