As a result of the Revolutionary War, Slavery was eliminated in the North.

The American Revolutionary War lasted from 1775 to 1783. It was an 18th-century war waged between Great Britain and its Thirteen Colonies in alliance with France, which declared independence as the United States of America.

The war occurred after more than a decade of increasing estrangement between the British crown and a large and influential portion of its North American colonies.
