If researcher allow their moral or other personal beliefs to influence their own objectivity, this is most likely an example of a conflict of conscience which is the third type of conflict. A conflict of conscience happens when individual principles will influence the objectivity of the research and is created by having to maintain objectivity in the face of principles which go in contradiction of the grain of something must act on or evaluate. As an example, a scientist may have a particular opinion on abortion that impacts his or her view of the scientific value of a study that practices human embryonic stem cells.
