many organisms can reproduce asexually through mitosis, while other organisms reproduce sexualy, and their cells carry out meiosis to form gametes. In a situation where an organism falls pray to many efficient predators, which of these processes would be most beneficial to a species?

Reproducing asexually would be more beneficial to a species in that situation because reproducing through mitosis is faster than reproducing sexually, and only one organism is needed to reproduce instead of two. Each organism can produce its own offspring without having to spend time finding a mate.
