AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is used on a person who is having sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).SCA is the condition in which the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating. The defibrillator shocks the victim's heart in an attempt to restore its rhythm to normal. Immediately after providing an AED shock you should resume chest compressions.
