It is quite true, researches of the 1920s directed by Jean Piaget, showed how adolescents developed a "mental operations", surpassing the basic form of thinking and have greater mental capacity with abstract thinking. This means that youth are able to imagine situations that they have never lived or seen, but they have an idea of how it would feel if they were in that situation.
