What would happen to a normal chemical process in your cells if the shape of the enzyme controlling that process was changed by an environmental process?

if the active side of the enzyme was changed, it means that the substrate will not be complementary to the active side thus the enzyme substrate complex will not form, and the reaction cannot take place, at the rate at which normally it would. It would obviously become slower as the number of successful collisions per unit time decreases
