A 100-foot ramp is tilted at a 45° angle. How high is the top of the ramp from the ground?

The ramp when tilted forms a triangle with the ground and the wall in which it is inclining to.

The height of the top of the ramp from the ground is equivalent to the length of the side opposite to the angle of inclination. Therefore we can use the sine function in this case.

Let’s say,

Y = height of the top of the ramp from the ground

sin 45 = Y / 100

Y = 85.09 ft = 85 ft
