An authoritarian leadership style has the tendency to encourage either aggressive or apathetic behavior among group members with aggressive members growing increasingly hostile toward their leader.
In authoritarian leadership, the leader will dictate every procedures, policies, and the goals that must be achieved by the organization. If members of the organization dare to defy the leader, they usually will be punished harshly.
