The English came in 1607 in Jamestown. They did not accept them immediately and at first even attacked a ship because of their experience with Spaniards. But then Indians changed and accepted them. Powhatan, an Indian leader thought they could have peace with the English by doing so and thought they would marry Indian women, but they did not.
