A testcross is a method in biology to determine the organism's genome type. This method was established by the father of genetics, Gregor Mendel. The genome type is tested between a known offspring genome with the unknown parent genome type. If the offspring is recessive, then the parent is heterozygous. Similarly, if the offspring is dominant, then the parent is homozygous.
