Answer: According to the scientists, speciation refers to the generation of distinctive and biologically new species in due course of evolution and this process of speciation takes place by the two main process, namely-

  1. Gradual process which generally takes place in terms of thousands of years i.e it is a very slow process.
  2. Abrupt process where sudden changes takes place usually due to mutation.
