This is a case of what we call explicit vs. implicit memory”.

Explicit memory is when we try to deliberately remember about something. In this case for example, how to wrap a present. Implicit memory on the other hand is something unconscious and unintentional. There are no specific guidelines or step on how to skip a rope, we just learn it unconsciously.
