Two triangular roofs are similar. The ratio of the corresponding sides of these roofs is 2:3. If the altitude of the bigger roof is 6.5 feet, find the corresponding altitude of the smaller roof. Round to the nearest tenth.

When two triangles are similar, this means that their corresponding sides have equal ratios. In this example, the ratio 2:3 is kept constant. By using ratioand proportion,we could find the altitude of the smaller roof, denoted as x, by

2/3 = x/6.5
x = 4.33 feet
