Irish and/or German

from 1845 to 1852 was the Irish Potato Famine so a great number of Irish emigrated from Ireland, and a lot ended up in the US.

The German Revolutions of 1848-49 (or Marche Revolutions) started in 1848 and along with bad economic conditions, it caused many people from the German Confederation to America.
