The formula for the area of a square is s2, where s is the side length of the square. What is the area of a square with a side length of 6 centimeters?

the area of the square is 36 cm²

another easy way to remember the area of a square is s*s, or side times side.

if one side is 6 centimeters, then the other 3 are also 6 because it's a square.

so you can either do 6*6 = 36

or 6^2 = 36
