Thank you RomanCSM. The more than likely answer would be; D. But unfortunately choice D is incorrect. So, the secondary choice would be; C. Neighboring empires quickly outpaced the Ottoman Empire in gunpowder technology and swiftly overran the empire.

More than likely the answer is: D. The weapons did not coincide with Islamic teachings, which caused friction between religious leaders and political rulers. But it could also be: C. Neighboring empires quickly outpaced the Ottoman Empire in gunpowder technology and swiftly overran the empire.
