An astronaut has a mass of 70 kg when measured on earth. what is her weight in deep space far from any celestial object

When a person is in space away from any celestial object, there is no gravitational force acting upon it. Thus, its weight is equal to its mass. Since, weight is equal to mass times gravitational force on earth, the mass would be 70/9.81 = 7.14 kg.
