2x = 5 + 4
2x = 9
x = 9/2
x = 4.5

Substitue "x" in equation 2

5x + 4y = 2
5(4.5) + 4y = 2
22.5 + 4y = 2
4y = 2 - 22.5
4y = -20.5
y = -20.5 / 4
y = -5.125

So x = 4.5, y = -5.125
