To calculate for the value of x we shall use the Pythagorean theorem;
c^2=a^2+b^2
a=3 cm and b=4 cm
thus;
x^2=3^2+4^2
x^2=9+16
x^2=25
hence;
x=sqrt25
x=5 cm
