Answer

Find out the what is the entrance fee for one student .

To prove

Let us assume that the entrance fee for the 25 student be x .

As given

Twenty-five members of the eighth grade class at Park Center Middle School are going to a museum and then to lunch.

Each student must pay an entrance fee to the museum and $7.25 for lunch.

The total cost for the trip is $443.75.

Than the equation

x + 25 × 7.25 = 443.75

x = 443.75 - 181.25

x = $262.5

Thus the entrance fee of the 25 students be $262.5

Entrance\ fee\ for\ one\ student = (262.5)/(25)

Entrance cost for one student = $10.5

Therefore the entrance fee for one student be $10.5

Option (A) is correct .

Hence proved

To answer this item, we let x be the entrance fee to the museum that must be paid by each student. The total cost for the trip should be the summation of the total entrance fee and total cost for lunch. The equation that would best represent the given scenario is,

25x + (25) (7.25) = 443.75

The value of x from the equation is 10.5. Hence, each student must pay $10.50 for the entrance fee.
