Theophylline is known to interact with smoking. Stopping the smoking may lead to the aburpt increase in the serum concentration os theophylline, a toxicity might be caused. Polycystic hydrocarbons of smoke, increase theophylline clearance, which leads to a higher dose requirement of the drug, by the smokers.
